We decided to rent a taxi for the day for the 7 of us (Alex and I, his parents, sister, and Aunt and Uncle) to take us around the sites. We found a really cool cab driver, named Mario, (who spoke english very well) and told us lots of interesting facts and even sang to us in Italian. As we drove to Sorrento, we passed by Mt. Vesuvius (the volcanoe that erupted and totally destroyed the Pompei civilization). We made it to Sorrento where we went to the Cameo factory where they make those cool engravings in seashells. We got to walk around the city, eat lunch at a real Italian pizzeria, and see the sites there. Afterward, Mario drove us up the coast to see the beautiful view. We ended up in Naples, where our ship was docked. We stopped to get some water at a little shop, but ended up leaving in a hurry and Mario rushing us back to the ship because he saw a couple guys on mopeds eying Alex's Uncle's Rolex and taking about taking it. So, Mario was afraid for our safety, and rushed us back to the ship (which we didn't mind because we were exhausted by then and ready for dinner!). What a day!
